God and mankind are fully reconciled in Jesus Christ by not having their trespasses imputed to them. The completed work of Jesus on the cross offers to everyone who will believe in Him forgiveness and righteousness. This finished work releases to every believer the blessing of Abraham whom God called a friend. The gospel gets better still.
Elder Paul teaches that revivals are usually birthed through prayer and fasting. He stresses that it's a partnership between God and humanity, aligning believers with God’s purposes rather than trying to force God to act. It an expression of a deep hunger for Him and of dissatisfaction with the current spiritual condition.
John Piper said it best- that fasting is described as the “hungry handmaiden of prayer” that both reveals spiritual hunger and intensifies prayer.
